Aerial silks are long pieces of fabric that are used to perform acrobatic movements.
You use aerial silks to perform a form of acrobatics that involves using the two lengths of fabric secured from the ceiling along with other aerial silk dancing equipment to perform acrobatic movements. You use your own body strength to climb and maneuver the fabric for a full-body workout.
Aerial silks are great for improving flexibility and core strength. When you use aerial gymnastics silks, you’ll experience a total body workout to strengthen and tone your legs, arms, and back.
At Uplift Active, we recommend measuring from the floor to your rigging point and then multiplying by 2. Our fabrics are available in lengths from 9-18 yards. We also supply custom extended sizes upon request.
When training with aerial silks, you’ll be doing acrobatic movements and be tightly wrapped in the silk, so we recommend wearing comfortable, tight-fitting clothes. Avoid wearing baggy clothing that can become tangled in the fabric.
